The Hip Pop is more than a nickname — it’s a movement.

It’s where fatherhood meets culture, where community meets creativity, and where showing up for your people is the real flex.

I earned the name “The Hip Pop” from being that dad who pulled up to school drop-off in fresh kicks, bumping classic hip hop, cheering from the sidelines, running toy drives, giving game, giving love, and always giving back. I didn’t wait for a stage — I built one. Right here in Torrance, CA.

What I do personally is what I do publicly:

I create space where people feel seen.

I tell stories rooted in us.

I build community through connection, laughter, and real talk.

The Hip Pop is for the parents raising the next generation with heart. For the creatives making something out of nothing. For the people who have lived, lost, learned, loved — and are still standing.

Welcome to the movement.

Welcome to the family.

Welcome to The Hip Pop.

PRESS

Had the good fortune to be featured in some pretty cool publications. Humbled by the opportunity to spread to good word about the good work we’ve done!

A man wearing glasses, a red cap, and a green jacket, sitting in front of a curtain, with a text overlay introducing him as Brvndyn Hernandez from the Hip Pops in El Segundo, October 2019.
A family of five outdoors, with three children and two adults, smiling at the camera. The father is wearing a gray cap and red shirt, the mother has sunglasses, and there is a baby in a stroller and two young children.

7 POPS COMMANDMENTS

1. Family First (Always)

Everything starts at home.

Being present, being loving, being accountable — that’s the foundation.

The Hip Pop believes in showing up for your people, your kids, your community, and yourself.

2. Culture with Purpose

We move with intention.

Whether it’s sneakers, music, fashion, or storytelling — culture isn’t just an aesthetic here.

It’s history, identity, memory, and pride.

We honor where we come from and who we are becoming.

3. Community is the Flex

The dopest thing you can do is lift others up.

We support local.

We share knowledge.

We build tables — not just seats at them.

If we win, we win together.

4. Lead with Love

Real strength looks like compassion, emotional intelligence, and empathy.

We speak from the heart, listen with intention, and care deeply — even when the world tells us not to.

5. Creativity is Legacy

Our stories, our art, our voice — that’s how we live forever.

The Hip Pop encourages self-expression, experimentation, and storytelling that reflects real life.

We don’t copy culture — we contribute to it.

6. Stay Authentic

No code-switching for comfort.

No watering down to fit in.

We show up as we are — sneakers creased, heart open, stories honest.

The Hip Pop is about being real, relatable, and rooted.

7. Joy is Revolutionary

Laugh loud. Dance often. Be silly with your kids.

Joy is healing.

Joy is culture.

Joy is resistance.

We celebrate life — even when it’s hard.
